Roxas finished smashing the computer, the one that ruined his life. He swung around angrily and stalked off into an unknown room where he found Sora, fast asleep.

DiZ appeared before him. His eyes narrowed, his hand clenched tightly around the keyblade as he swung it back and forth wildly, attempting to attack him. He was familiar. He was the one who did this to him. It was all about that Sora!

"My heart is my own!" Roxas cried, spinning around. Everything has gone white.

When Roxas awakened, he found himself face to face with....

Wah! If you sleep on me, I'll get squished!

Gee, that's awful.

Axel!

[Roxas whines a little, pushing at his chest.]

I don't want to be squished. What if I died?

[by_heart]

You're not gonna die if I sleep on you. Don't be a baby.

[He sits up a little though since, you know, he was kind of afraid that that had actually happened a few minutes ago.]

Okay, fine.

[Roxas squirms until he's comfortable and leans back against Lea's chest. If he's going to use him as a pillow, the favour's going to be returned. Fortunately Lea will be able to feel that he's breathing, warm and just as alive as he should be, lying in his arms]

Just don't squish me. You grew too big.

Well, catch up already. I'm done.

[Once Roxas is settled, he rests his cheek on his hair again and lets his eyes drift shut. He doesn't even care that maybe this isn't the most comfortable position in the world, he has Roxas right where he needs him and that's all that matters.]

Would have liked to have grown out a little and not just up, though, but you take what you can get. You look like you managed to find enough room.

I think you're just weirdly tall. Sora's as tall as me!

[Roxas' hair is probably soft, since the standing up it does is natural.]

Are you saying I'm too fat?

[He pinches Roxas' side.]

You're gonna be if you keep eating ice cream for dinner. You're gonna be round and I'll still be a great big stick no matter how much I eat.

Aye! [He yelps when pinched.]

I will not! That doesn't sound very fair. You be the one that gets fat.

Never gonna happen. I'm gonna be skinny as a rail forever.

[Really, he thinks it must not be that comfortable for Roxas right now, trying to make a pillow out of a scarecrow like him.]

I was so cute as a kid, too. What the hell happened?

I don't know, I wasn't there.

[Don't think that Lea, he's perfectly comfortable. Roxas blinks at him.]

You used to be a kid?

[Lea cracks open one eye.]

Of course I did. What, you think I was always like this? You're the one who just popped magically into existence. The rest of us had to do it the normal way.

Hmmm. I guess I never thought about it.

[Something he can ruminate over.]

I mean, I guess I did kinda magically pop into existence this time around, but the first time was normal.

[He's still not sure how the whole thing worked. Ienzo and the rest have probably figured it all out by now, but he's never bothered to ask or even given himself the opportunity to. It was better for Roxas to settle down in the Destiny Islands near Sora, Riku and Kairi and, to be honest, better for Lea as well. It was sort of a way to make a new start to things and to make it easier to avoid all his memories of Radiant Garden.]

It's okay Axel, you have me around, right?

[He closes his eyes, smiling a bit. Roxas really wouldn't be anywhere Lea wasn't, even though Sora, Riku and Kairi are pretty great.]

LEA. And I was just talking about it, too. Sometimes I think you do it on purpose.

[He shakes Roxas back and forth a little, just to be a jerk. If he's going to let him hold him like this, he's going to have to deal with the consequences.]

[Roxas laughs a little. He did do it on purpose this time, and he just grins at Lea.]

Maybe, but that's because I always liked Axel.

He liked you too, more than anyone else. Which feels dumb to say because it's not like we're really different people. It was just kind of a weird detour, I guess. I remember everything before, during, and after. Not like you with your big mess in here.

[He pats the back of Roxas' head.]

Yeah, I guess. I meant the name, Lea.

[He grins at him and shrugs a bit.]

Why is my head like that?

You really want me to explain all of that right now? Or are you just talking about your hair this time? Don't wanna give you some smart answer when all you need to know is that it's hopeless and we'd have to shave it all so you can start over.

Not my hair Lea! Inside my head. Why's it so weird?

[Lea flops back against the couch, his arms falling to his sides for the moment.]

Of course that's what you want to know.

Okay, okay. With me, when I lost my heart, there was little Heartless Lea somewhere, I guess [One hand flops pathetically against the floor.] and there was big Nobody Axel somewhere else. [He waves with his other hand.] And then a lot of stuff happened and POOF [Both hands flop.] instant Lea again.

With Sora, there was little Heartless Sora for all of about half an hour TOPS, but somehow we got big Nobody Roxas for a year after Sora was all one piece. Problem number one. Then there were all the plans that the Organization had that messed with Sora's memories. Problem two. Then those plans didn't work out. Problem three. Then we did what we needed to do, got you back, and now we're trying to figure out just how it works with you.

[Roxas is watching his hands as he talks, blinking at him. He processes for a moment before looking at Lea.]

I don't get it.

Why am I not surprised? I'd draw you a diagram, but then I'd have to get up.

It's okay, you can do it some other time.
